Sometimes, just one lock won't be enough

Context of the observation

The observation took place in the parking spot at the central campus from the University. There are private guards hired by the University to take care of the place as a whole

Location

Brazil

2 Interpretations

Sometimes, using one lock is not enough: people have to lock not only the bicycle, but also the wheels. This can be sometimes complicated, specially if the chain used is short.

This is the humanities sector, where people culturally use more bicycles than other sectors - like applied sciences. It is also more central: suburban campus have few bike acesses.

How can we improve the safety in this parking lot: hiring more security? Having more locks? Improving the bike racks?

Are there always an available spot for parking the bike? What should someone do if there is no space available?

There are a few bikes, some people, good stands to look you bike to and a security guard. Is this place unsecure ? Does it need more protection ?
